Chris Treacy, Commodore
Chris and Jenny recently moved from Yorktown to a home on the York River on Gloucester Point. They have three grown children and have been at SYC since 2006 where they keep Querencia (a Newport 27).

Chris has lived in many places but has always been at home on and around sailboats.  He learned to sail from his father, raced "big boats" on the US Naval Academy's Offshore Sailing Team and has cruised and raced sailboats up and down both coasts as well as on the open ocean. He currently serves in the US Navy Reserve as a helicopter pilot and also works as a business leader in the technology sector.

Glen McDermott, Vice Commodore

With their daughter Lilly, Glen and Stefanie live in Grafton.  Their son, Justin, is an engineer living in Santa Cruz, CA.  Their sailboat, Lo’Tide, is a ketch rigged Herreshoff Meadowlark docked at SYC.

Glen and family have lived all over the country suffering a bit of wanderlust, a bit of habit, and a bit of gypsy.  They have settled in this area to let their rolling stones rest and to let moss grow on their feet; itchy as it may be!  To that end, they are building community and learning how to embrace service.

Glen is an artist by spirit and misplaced academic by trade.  With a PhD in Public Finance/Economics and a special gift for applied econometrics, he is employed with Anthem working in large data decision analytics.  Glen’s superpower is the instantaneous glazing over of eyes; a power he is happy to exercise when people inadvertently or purposely stray into the topic of big data science, human capital, and incentives.  Glen is much happier when engaging his less routinely exercised interests including: playing guitar, messin’ about with boats (design/building/materials/repair), golfing (swing mechanics), travel adventures (backcountry and the path less trod), cooking (Thai, Szechuan, and flavors of the Southwest), and building things (making costumes, sets and haunted houses, computers, cabinet design/fabrication). He looks forward to sharing his experience and assisting others when the opportunities arise.

Sandy Alexander, Rear Commodore

Sandy was born and raised in Southern California.  She met her husband Michael while she was learning how to fly! Yes, she does have her private pilots license.  She and Michael raised their family in New Jersey where they first got into boating.

Sandy is a retired Respiratory Therapist and upon Michael leaving his airline pilot career they moved to Virginia to be nearer to their 2 sons and enjoy retirement on the water.  They also have a daughter in Little Rock who they visit often.

After joining the club, they started cruising and traded their "go fast" boat for a Monk 36 Trawler.  They enjoy the comfort and leisurely pace of "Blue Skies" and can be found cruising the bay.

In her spare time, Sandy enjoys spending time with Michael on the water, in the yard or walking their rescue dog , Jarvis. She also enjoys traveling to visit family and friends and is an avid Pilates participant.

Linda Reviea, Treasurer

Linda and Bob have been York County residents since 1991. They are powerboaters and dock their Viking 44 at Mills Marina. They enjoy adventures on the water, camping during all seasons, sports and music.

Retiring as the Superintendent of Staunton City Schools in 2017, Linda enjoyed over 33 years as a Virginia public educator. She continues to stay engaged professionally by serving as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Virginia Department of Education and enjoys being the bookkeeper for Seaford Baptist Church where she and Bob have been members for over 30 years. Bob and Linda are the proud parents of two adult children and love being grandparents.

Having devoted her entire professional career to community service, Linda is looking forward to serving as the Yacht Club's treasurer.

Jody Kelly, Past Commodore
Jody and Lynn live in Dandy just a few doors up Back Creek from SYC. They have a 23' Grady White Gulfstream at their home and have a Hunter Legend 37 at the SYC marina.

Jody was born and raised in York County attending Seaford Elementary, York Intermediate and York High School. After meeting Lynn in St. Louis, MO, Jody and Lynn settled back into York County in 2002 and have been here ever since. Jody owns his own company, Bay Rivers Consulting, and has had a contract with the Navy since 2010. Jody and Lynn have 3 kids (Sydney - 19, JAK, 16, Grayson - 13) that you will occasionally see at the Club as JAK and Grayson are also members of the York County Sailing Team, which rents the Club's 420 boats during the spring and fall sailing seasons. Jody and Lynn were not born sailors but after moving in next door to Dan and Doris Smoker (in 2013) were pretty much "forced" to become sailors. Thanks to the Smokers and SYC the whole Kelly family now knows how to sail and loves all activities in and on the water.

Jody and Lynn try to attend most all events at SYC but during the warmer months you will find Jody and Lynn on the water (Bay Tree, New Point, fishing and tubing) or cruising with SYC.

Barbara Georgiana, Trustee 2023-2025

Dave and I enjoy living in James City County.  We can be on the Capital Trail biking to Jamestown or to Richmond etc.  We are about 5 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg.  The Colonial Parkway is an enjoyable car ride to Seaford Yacht Club. We joined SYC in 1996.  Our current Sail Boat is a Hank Hinkley Great Harbor 26 foot “NIGHT SKY”.  The color of the boat indicates great sailing!  We have raced, sailed, and motored!  We won some and always finished!  In 2004 the Virginia Tech Crew Team were the crew on our NIGHT WIND 35 “BAY KEY” COCK ISLAND RACE.  We were second place cruising and awarded a sail boat trophy!  Another race with ”BAY KEY” we were sailing in the 20th YORK RIVER CUP.  First place 2005, family and friends were crew.  Our name is on the large trophy at YORK RIVER YACHT HAVEN!  We have 2 grown children and 4 grand children.
